About
Me

I am a senior (class of '21) at St. Teresa's Academy, where I serve at the Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper "the Dart". I have been on staff for three out of three years, and during my time I have been a co-design editor, writer, page designer, photographer, among many other roles -- one of the perks of being on a small staff! The Dart has taught me some of the most valuable lessons that journalism can offer, the most important of which being how to tell a story. I have learned how to tell stories through writing, videography, photography, and design, and it has been a rewarding experience. My time as a high school journalist has also taught me the importance journalism has in starting community-wide conversations. I know that my skills developed in journalism will provide a strong foundation to allow me to dive into communities and share stories of individuals who are otherwise overlooked.

"A KC GLIMPSE"

Summer of 2020 I spent applying my journalistic skills to co-creating a literary arts magazine about the Kansas City arts community. A friend of mine and I received a grant from GripTape.org of $500 to create this magazine -- which all the money went to printing -- and we distributed it around the city. It was an amazing opportunity to really put my interviewing and design skills to the test, which took up the largest sum of this project.
